The transition announced today opens a new phase for ESTELLAN, grounded in the group’s continuity and a documented capability build-up.
I want to address directly the employees, partners, and contacts who maintained ESTELLAN’s continuity while I completed the capsuleer curriculum. The group continued to meet its obligations, preserve its archive, and protect its independence while the family leadership prepared for what came next. I now assume executive responsibility for that next phase.
For a company established in Caille, individual initiative carries direct accountability. It requires us to explain what has been decided, where authority rests, and which scope applies. That is the spirit in which the group’s new operational phase and the methodical review of the LANTERN archive will be conducted.
CONTINUITY BEFORE GROWTH
Our first obligation is continuity. ESTELLAN’s clients and partners should find a stable organisation, identifiable responsibilities, and commitments that do not change with the cadence of public announcements.
The group remains a small independent Gallente technology company controlled by the Estellan family and based in Caille. Its principal activity remains precision mission instrumentation: TRACE observes, VECTOR correlates, and VAULT preserves. DEEP’s new capsuleer capability extends that chain into the field.
The capsuleer capability gives the group an additional means of acting directly in space. Its development will draw on the expertise of ground teams, the experience of our counterparts, and the obligations accompanying interstellar activity. Its scope will evolve when operations and their documented lessons justify doing so.
WHAT ESTELLAN DEEP CHANGES
DEEP brings observation, testing, and action closer together. This field-operations and applied-research function existed before my capsuleer certification; it now receives an additional capability. When survey, investigation, recovery, rescue, or instrument validation requires direct presence, ESTELLAN can deploy assets under its own authority.
This capability changes the speed at which some decisions can be made. It does not reduce the consequences of a poor decision. The capsuleer’s advantages, considerable as they are, do not automatically protect supporting personnel, crews, partners, or assets entrusted to the group. Preparation, proportional use of resources, and the decision to decline a mission therefore remain executive responsibilities.
I will personally lead DEEP’s initial capsuleer deployments and directly assume the risk of this first phase. Certified on YC128.08.21, I will develop this capability with the crews and technical teams whose method and experience remain essential.
The maturity of this capability will be established through documented missions, proven procedures, and verifiable results. When conditions require them, protective assets secure access, teams, data, and recovery. The public register will evolve as information becomes sufficiently established and suitable for release.
THE PLACE OF LANTERN
LANTERN designates a historical corpus of measurements, configurations, processing records, models, and interpretations attributed to Serge Estellan’s work from YC113 onward. Our present responsibility is to verify its provenance, calibration, and processing history without treating any historical interpretation as established.
The YC113–YC116 archive will be examined as technical material produced under specific conditions. Some records may retain value. Others may be incomplete, dependent on instruments that are now obsolete, or affected by processing choices that can no longer be reconstructed. An honest conclusion may be that an earlier result can no longer be verified.
The file concerning his disappearance remains open and separate. No element of the LANTERN review is currently retained as relevant to it, and no link between the two files has been established.
ACCOUNTABILITY WITHOUT COMPROMISE
A company operating in complex space environments must reconcile two requirements: it must answer for what it claims, and it must protect information it cannot legitimately release.
We will correct information that becomes inaccurate. We will retain losses and negative results when they can be published. We will state when a capability is limited to a particular environment, platform, or period. We will not release third-party identities, active routes, security arrangements, or contractual data entrusted to us.
This restraint is not a means of avoiding scrutiny. It defines the difference between institutional communication and the careless exposure of an operation.
A PERIOD OF WORK
The phase beginning today will be measured in straightforward terms: commitments met, operations conducted with judgement, capabilities that are genuinely available, and an archive review able to publish a limitation as readily as a result.
Our priority is to consolidate the company, develop a controlled field presence, and determine which parts of the LANTERN corpus can still support a technically defensible comparison. Each step will follow what the work can actually establish.
